Join us and Maria van Zyl of Cream of the Crop – a biodynamic micro-dairy in Piket-Bo-Berg – on Sat 26 July for a butter- and cheese-making workshop paired with a taste of the slow life 🧈
Start the day with fresh-brewed coffee and just-baked pastries from Joburg's best before Maria guides you and no more than 15 others through the craft of natural dairy fermentation. Make your own cultured butter, halloumi, and ricotta from fresh cream and milk while chatting about cows and day-dreaming of the Swartland ✍️
Complete your inner-city trip to the farm with a farm-style lunch served up by Winebar, featuring a menu of fresh stuffed pasta 🍝 buttered T-bone 🥩 many veg 🫛 PAVLOVA 🍓 housemade sourdough 🥖 and of course your very own cheese and butter 🧀
And to wash it down, we're making it a family affair as Maria brings her brother, Adriaan, assistant winemaker at Testalonga, to personally pour you some of his latest own-label vintage 🍷
