This multi-vineyard masterpiece from the Prince of Pinot, Peter-Allan Finlayson, is both a tasty tribute to the Burgundian varietal and to the growers of its first vintage, Peter & Max.
The vineyard sources have changed and P-A's winemaking style has grown in confidence, but the sentiment remains the same as it did in 2008—to present a cool-climate Pinot of stature with an unashamedly Cape personality.
Find sour plum and a subtle cocoa-nib earthiness on the nose, a fresh palate of rhubarb and cranberry notes, with a decadent chocolate and maraschino cherry finish.
