Young gun winemaker and all round nice guy, Jorrie du Plessis, brings us a Paarl white that's a tender celebration of family, heritage grapes, and simple winemaking.
Grapes from vines that Jorrie's great-grandfather planted in 1976 are handpicked and sorted for taste to ensure balance of sweetness and acidity. Colombar and Chenin Blanc (60/40) are wholebunch pressed and separately fermented in old French oak barrels. After fermentation naturally ceases, the individual wines are blended to age together for 10 months.
Jorrie's unconventional take on the classic white blend spotlights Colombar's bright and floral personality with old vine Chenin as a supporting act.
